Pastor's 2nd Annual Bike Rike

Pastor Dennis is sponsoring his 2nd Annual Bike ride. The ride this year will be on the same segment of the Musketawa Trail as last year's ride. It runs about 5 miles on the old railroad bed from Ravenna to Conklin. The ride will begin at 2 P.M. and will be in two segments with a break in Conklin before returning to Ravenna. Last year we had young - the youngest was age 7, and old riders - the oldest was in his eighties.

The ride will be a gentle outing covering only a part of the paved Musketawa Trail, the longest bicycle trail in Michigan at 26 miles, which runs between Marne and Muskegon, passing through farmlands and wetlands, over creeks, and through villages. See http://musketawatrail.com for more trail information.

The ride from Ravenna to Conklin is particularly scenic with lots of shade. There are several rest points along the way for those who need to stop, however, the ride should not be too strenuous for amature bikers. The trip to Conklin should take about 30 to 40 minutes. After a rest and refreshments, we will return to Ravenna. Those more experienced and adventurous may choose to continue on to Marne, about 7 miles. Those who want more of a challenge could start at the Broadway parking lot, planning to meet the group at the Ravenna parking lot, about 11.5 miles distance.

Those choosing not to ride can join the riders at the small park along the trail in Conklin where we stop for a break and perhaps a bit of food & refreshments.
